My Approach to Teaching:
Guitar Teacher Charlie White: It is very important to me that my students are interested and passionate about the music they are learning. I want them to learn their favorite songs while also improving as musicians. In both my rock band and private lessons I like to explain concepts of music theory through pop and rock songs while also addressing instrumental technique. Playing in a band is a great way to experience music with others while also having a platform to grow as a musician. I introduce music to my students that is both interesting and challenging with hopes that they are inspired to keep improving.
My Education &
I have been playing guitar for about 14 years in styles such as rock, jazz, blues, pop, and many others. During high school I led an indie rock band and we played many shows around Baltimore, Maryland. I studied jazz guitar privately for 3 years before being accepted into Berklee College of Music where I received a degree in Professional Music. I spent a good amount of time there playing in various jazz and guitar ensembles. Shortly after I was part of an acoustic duo that played a range of styles from bluegrass, to folk, rock, and jazz. I have also been performing as a singer/songwriter solo artist for the past 12 years.
